Counselling services can be provided through a referral at Juniper Lodge, which we believe plays a crucial role in supporting survivors on their journey toward healing and recovery. These services are designed to be trauma-informed, confidential, and tailored to the individual’s emotional needs. Whether the assault occurred recently or years ago, counselling offers a safe space to explore feelings, process experiences, and regain a sense of control.

Counselling referrals are typically provided by trained professionals who specialise in sexual trauma. They understand the complex impact that sexual violence can have—not just physically, but emotionally and psychologically. Sessions may focus on managing anxiety, rebuilding self-esteem, coping with flashbacks, or navigating relationships. Importantly, survivors are never pressured to talk about anything they’re not ready to share; the pace and content of therapy are entirely led by the client.

Accessing counselling through a SARC doesn’t require a police report, and services are free of charge. This ensures that support is available to anyone who needs it, regardless of their legal choices. Juniper Lodge also works closely with other local organisations to provide referrals for long-term therapy or specialist support, such as for young people or those with additional needs. Ultimately, counselling at a SARC is about restoring hope, fostering resilience, and helping survivors rebuild their lives on their own terms.
