We\u2019re here to support you.<\/h3>\n<p>Visiting a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) can feel overwhelming. Below is some information which has been designed to help you understand what happens during a visit, so you can make informed choices at every step.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udf3c Before You Arrive<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can call us anytime to ask questions or book an appointment. We also offer all clients a face to face video call (you can choose not to show your face) with a crisis worker to reassure you, explain the process and put you at ease.<\/li>\n<li>You don\u2019t need to report to the police to access our services.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019re welcome to bring someone with you for support.<\/li>\n<li>Please do not wash, shower or bath, brush teeth, use mouth wash or change clothes before attending. Do not worry if you have, we can still work alongside you in your individual circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83d\udeaa When You Arrive<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A friendly crisis worker will greet you and explain your options.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be offered a private, calm space to talk.<\/li>\n<li>Everything you share is confidential unless <strong>you<\/strong> choose otherwise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83e\uddea Forensic Examination (Optional)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can choose to complete a forensic examination with one of our specially trained sexual offence examiner.<\/li>\n<li>You can stop or pause at any time.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019ll explain each step and ask for your consent before anything happens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83d\udcac Aftercare and Support<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We\u2019ll talk through next steps, including emotional support and referrals.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll receive information to take away, and we\u2019ll maintain contact if you\u2019d like.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--EndFragment --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REMEMBER You\u2019re in control.
