Juniper Lodge provides a free and discreet service to anyone aged 18 years and over, male or female that has been subject to a sexual assault.

The staff are trained professionals who can provide clear information and advice about your options, enabling you to make your own choices.

We can help you to access medical support, regardless of whether you wish to report to the Police or not.

We are able to make the necessary referrals to specialist agencies who are dedicated to providing support and help to you in times of need.

Everyone has their own ideas about whether to report to the Police. Of course, if you are in danger, the only way the Police can protect you is if you tell them about it. However, you should make an informed decision about whether to report or not. For many people, however, telling the police is helpful for their healing process, whether charges are brought or not.

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted, but are unsure about whether to report to the police, you can attend Juniper Lodge to discuss your options with a trained advisor. If there are forensic opportunities, we can carry out a forensic medical and store the samples taken without involving the police, to give you some time and space to make a decision. These samples are currently stored for 2 years before destruction.

We are also able to make referrals to sexual health clinics, sexual violence advisors and any other organisations that can help.

We will discuss your options and help you to make the choice that is right for you, making an assessment of your needs and offering any emotional support.
